This is FSX SP2 running on XP Pro SP2, rig specs here. All of the pics have the coordinates displayed so as you can reproduce the shot(s). The season is Summer 2008, the date is August 8, hey, a glimpse into the future ;-) The sim is in slew mode, cockpit view, zoom is 1.00 (none). The UTX-only shots are with the FSX default scenery, *not* GEX Enhanced and have all road options enabled. Do they show the full potential of FSX default, UTX or GEX? Beats me, not my job ;-) What they *do* show is the differences, relative to my setup now. The screenshots were captured with the standard Print Screen key, .jpg compressed and saved with IrfanView @100% quality.
More FS9/FSX stuff/Current rig specs etc. here, opens in a new window. The
best way to view these screenshots: Although all the pics
will open in a new window when you click on a thumbnail, if you're
using a
reasonably current browser, right-click a thumbnail and open in a new
Tab, do the same with the shot(s) you want to compare.
Switching between them that way will avoid the
distraction of browser
window
x/y displacement. It gives a *much*
better overall impression of
what's different. If you're
clicking to open seperate windows, and then click to enlarge them, make
sure
the browser windows are scrolled to the same place, x/y. Bridges,
landmarks and runways are *usually* but not
always a stable visual
reference point. In some shots background mountains are the best
reference point so you know you're seeing things from the same
perspective as the shots you're comparing. Things will jump around with the various
scenery packages, though the actual
coords (viewable in each pic) and view, (cockpit, zoom = 1.00 (none)
are identical for all
pics.
Comments,
suggestions, hmmm, nahhh ;-) To paraphrase a classic, it's my
web site and I'll show what I wanna :-) Didja know Quincy Jones
produced that hit single for Lesley Gore? To Nick N and all the code
and terrain monkeys at GEX and UTX: good work :-)
